School Carinval & State Fair

Isis' school put on a carnival to raise money for the PTO. Tiff volunteered and was working one of the stations. Isis made us do the cake walk four times so that she could win. I must have been bad luck because I was there the first three times and she didn't win. Mike was sick that day, so I took him home. Isis won on her last try when Tiff was with her.

After the carnival, we went to the state fair. Mike still wasn't feeling all that good but he insisted on going. The kids had a great time and we all ate way too much food. We try to go to the fair at least once a year.

The fair had a few new fried foods to try. They had Alligator, Meal Worms, and Scorpion. I was going to try the scorpion but when I saw another person try it, I decided against it. There was no batter on it. It looked like he just picked it up of the ground and ate it. Since I am no fish, the worms were out, so I tried the Alligator. Surprisingly, it was very good and no it didn't taste like chicken. So here is a picture of me eating the gator.

Mike's Homecoming & Isis' Awards Day

Well Mike went to his first Homecoming dance this year. He said he had a good time. He went with his girlfriend. He was a gentleman, bought her ticket and brought her flowers.

Isis had her first awards ceremony at school. She got an award for perfect attendance. She also got one for Citizenship.

Isis & Soccer

Well Isis decided she wanted to play soccer this fall. So far she has stayed interested in it. She practices on Wednesdays and plays her games on Saturdays. They have had two games so far. They have 1 win and 1 loss. The biggest thing tho is that she and the rest of the kids are having a great time playing. Her team is mostly girls with only 3 boys. She plays with 4 to 6 year olds. One of the little boys has a major crush on her. At this age it is all cute and innocent, thankfully hehe.

My New Ambulance

Here is a couple of picture of my new ambulance. We got it on Wednesday. We have lots more room in the cab, so catching naps while on a move up is a lot more comfortable. Southwest also purchased new computers for our ride, new radios, a new stretcher, and some basic equipment. We have tinted windows now and secondary a/c for the back.

This picture is one with my partner, Kim, acting silly.
I didn't have a picture of our old ambo. It matched the color scheme of Glendale Fire Department. So here is a picture of one of their engines so you can get an idea of what color it was.

Our Texas Trip

Here are a few pictures from our trip to Texas. We had a great time. Only spent a week, wish it could have been longer. These first pictures are from when we went to NASA.

These next two are from Kemah. We went down to the boardwalk after visiting NASA. We visited the Aquarium there and got to feed the sting rays. Unfortunatley the pictures were to dark. We took a ride on the little train and we ate at Joe's Crab Shack.
Here are a couple of pictures from Sarah's wedding. Isis was a dancing machine. Michael on the other hand didn't want to dance and kept hiding from the camera.

One more picture while waiting at the airport in Austin.

Isis at swim class

Isis took some swimming lessons this summer. At first she really hated putting her head and face under water. She got over that fear. She is still afraid to jump off the diving board (they wear life vests when they jump off) and to go down the water slide. But I figure as long as she is getting over one fear at a time, she will be just fine. She is still a little behind were she should be, so she will have to repeat level one next summer. No worries though, she is one of the youngest in her class. So we are in no hurry to get her into the next level.

Isis & Mike Grad Pictures

Well I guess since the kids will be starting school on the 10th, I should post some of their graduation pics. Michael will be a freshman this year . Isis will be starting kindergarden.

Big Bear Trip

We spent a few days in Big Bear last weekend. Michael has been wanting to learn how to snow board and Isis wanted to play in the snow. We drove up on Thursday afternoon and we were supposed to come home on Sunday. It decided to snow on Sunday and the driving conditions required snow chains to drive down the mountain, so we stayed until Monday morning. The kids had a great time playing in the snow and riding the horses. Here are some pictures.

Here is Isis playing with a farm play set on Thursday evening. Steven drove up on Friday morning to teach Michael and I how to snow board. Here are some snowboarding pictures.

Michael and I spent the day on the bunny slopes learning. We both did pretty well. We did have some good falls and crashes but no serious injuries. We had a blast and think we are ready to move past the bunny slopes. Saturday we decided to take Isis tubing. At first she was scared to go down the big hills with us, so Tiff took her on the small hill. After awhile she wanted to ride with Uncle Steven on the big hills. Here are some pictures:

In this picture Michael was on his tube, Steven and Isis on the next tube, and myself on the last tube. We were holding onto each other and riding down backward. The kids were having a great time and we only stopped when Isis ran out for energy. In the next pic, Isis is being carried up the hill for one last ride.

Once the kids rested the got to ride "Shotgun" on Saturday afternoon.

Sunday the snow fell. It snowed off and on on Sunday. Here are some pictures from Sunday.
